A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong experience in risk management, payments, and operational process oversight. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage multiple initiatives, influence without authority, and drive clarity in complex, fast‑moving environments.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of project management experience, excels in facilitation and communication, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity while guiding teams toward successful outcomes.
Remote work is supported; however, candidates located in Buffalo, NY or Cleveland, OH are preferred.
Financial Services Project Management experience
Non‑technical PM background (business operations, risk, process, compliance)
Demonstrated proactive leadership and ability to challenge assumptions constructively
Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment, coordinating internal teams and third‑party resources.
Ensure all team members understand the organization’s Project Lifecycle Framework, quality checkpoints, and governance expectations.
Support project intake, registration, prioritization, and pipeline management to remove bottlenecks and maintain delivery momentum.
Define and manage project scope, objectives, requirements, deliverables, and value propositions across diverse stakeholder groups.
Develop integrated project plans, identify dependencies, manage critical paths, and track/report milestones and status.
Estimate resource needs, manage utilization, oversee vendor onboarding/offboarding, and monitor vendor performance.
Identify, track, escalate, and resolve risks, issues, and conflicts; perform impact analysis and drive mitigation strategies.
Tailor project methods, metrics, and documentation; manage version control and configuration management.
Facilitate deliverable reviews, sign‑offs, and project assessments; coach and mentor team members as needed.
Lead communication planning and execution, ensuring clear, consistent updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Support change management activities including communication, training, and transition planning.
Oversee documentation, knowledge transfer, and transition to business‑as‑usual operations.
Conduct lessons‑learned reviews and drive continuous improvement.
Manage vendor contracts and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
PMP, CSM, SSM, or similar certification preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of project management experience.
Experience with standard project management methodologies, tools, and lifecycle frameworks.
Financial services experience strongly preferred, especially in risk management, regulatory remediation, or payment operations.
Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and the full MS Office suite.
Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities; able to “connect the dots” across complex environments.
